The FrequencyModulation app is a free Android app for making analog synth sounds. This app has two main menus: a carrier and modulator. They both have a frequency, detune, attack, gain and release slider and they can both be selected to a square, sine or triangle waveform. The app has a trigger button to play the sound. This is in my opinion a tutoring app as you can learn more than you can produce, but as it was built by just a single person, it surely is great. It is like a synthesizer for sampling music and for making ideas for implementing in songs. You can never have too much synthesizers on your phone or tablet and each makes a different sound due to its unique user interface. This app is especially good because it shows you what you are doing with the sound and because it has a really reliable interface. This app will work on screen any size and on many outdated phones as well. The FrequencyModulator app can be used for teaching as well so to show students or pupils how frequencies look like and how soundwaves differ among each other.

The Fine Chromatic app is a free Android app for tuning any instrument that can be tuned. This tuner is really easy to figure out, as it only has an indicator and a wheel with the notes inscribed on it. The frequency is shown in Hz as well as the measurement unit in cents. After tuning the indicator stays fixed to the final note, which helps you remember which note you have tuned and which comes next. Information about the app and the producer is found in the settings menu located in the upper right corner of the app. You can use the app on any size of screen and with a phone or tablet that has at least Android 2.3 . You can use this app to tune any instrument you may like, but for a piano you should better call an expert. The app is quite compact as I was able to install it on a phone with no sd card and works really smoothly. The Fine Chromatic app (for the same app for bass, click here) is a really functional and can be used with your phone or tablet's microphone to tune your instruments and your voice as well as recognize chords in a song played in the background. The Fine Bass Tuner app is a free Android app for tuning instruments with low resonating tonalities. The app has a normal tuner twin which is the Fine Chromatic app. This is the only bass tuner that I have managed to successfully use, as the others just to not want to show the right notes. The Fine Bass Tuner features a tuner wheel in the low part of the screen, as there you can see it best in really illuminated areas, with an indicator and more. You can see the frequency in Hz, how much cents you have to adjust the instrument's string to and the name of the note you have tuned. What is really intelligently made is the indication that does not move unless the app detects you are tuning a bass. The app can be used on both phones and tablets as long as they have a fairly recent Android OS (2.3.3 and up) and a good microphone. The Fine Bass Tuner is a really functional app for your Android and can really prove useful when you forget your other tuners at home, but make sure to also install a general chromatic tuner for other instruments than bass. The Fender pure nickel electric strings have a really smooth tone and are easy on the fingers. They have a real silvery colour and bend very easily. They are really easy to play and have a really warm tone. They were a little longer than the nickel plated steels on my Bullet® Strat® and I cut them off with the pliers. They are really maleable so I guess you can experiment different tunings with them. For example, downtuning works well as they are really the same stiffness when in tune and 1 tone below. They are the cleanest strings in existance as after a year of use you can still make them shine almost as bright as they did when they were new. I've had them for a year now, and they are just now beginning to come apart. The Fender electric strings are made in the USA at good quality standards. The Fender electric pure nickel are good for all types of players really, especially for bending and down tuning. The Fender pure nickel electric strings stay in tune well and have a great price. The Extreme Drum Pads app is a free Android app for playing virtual pads. The app has a 4x3 grid of pads that can be programmed to 5 different presets: Brutal Dubstep, Modern Urban, Melbourne Bounce, Chip Tune and Progressive. The app was made in 2016 and works on new Android phones and tablets only (Android 4.1 and up). The app works in background and has really interesting sounds in the settings. There is a sequencer that uses a kick, a hat and a snare as well as a 4 measure timeline divided into 4 submeasures. You can change the tempo of the sequencer here that does not affect the general tempo of the app, as well as play and stop the sequencer. There are no actual settings to this app and also, no recording taking place. The best method to use when recording with these kinds of apps is to amplify the app on stereo speakers, turn the volume up and record just like you would record an acoustic only instrument. The Extreme Drum Pads app is a really well-made app that is capable of delivering quality music, as far as your creativity regarding dubstep and trap can go. The Drum Studio app is a free Android app for playing the drums. This app is really easy to use, as it directly displays the drum kit which has: 2 crashes, 3 toms, a snare, a kick, a hat and a china. There is an option for changing the sound samples of the app from Rock to Hip-Hop which works, but the app was clearly built with acoustic instruments in mind. You can also move the drum kit instruments on all of the screen, so as to click them better. The app works on both tablets and phones, but is best usable on a big screen. You will also have to have a recent Android version (2.3.3 and up) in order to use this app. The Drum Studio app is especially unique as it is the sole app that can place the instruments that were on top on the bottom, when you move them. The positions of the buttons (drum kit instruments) can be resetted to normal and the sound samples can be set to rock. The Drum Studio app is a really useful app for people that want to have a drum kit to make ideas with, but you can also amplify it and use it as an actual drum kit if you have a tablet. The Drum Practice Tracker app is a free Android app for tracking your progress as a drum player. Obviousely made with an Android template in Android studio, the app is really simple actually and anybody can use it. For this app it does not matter if you have a phone or a tablet, as it works equally well on both. The app features a timer of the first screen (or more like a time keeper) that operates to suite the exercise you have set for yourself. You can set the tempo from a slidable list of tempo numbers as well as the note value and subdivisions. The app can be used to exercises as many exercises as you may want and there are also features like changing the name of the exercise, grading yourself and even commenting about your performance. All of your attempts will be stored in the app ane you will be able to redo any exercise for as many times as you want. The Drum Practice Tracker app is a really well constructed app for developing your skills as a drum player and can serve as a metronome if you do not have any at a certain point. The Analog Metronome app is a free Android app for tracking the tempo of the song you are playing. The app has a really simple to user interface for people that are used to the actual acoustic metronome. The app features a wooden metronome in the middle of the screen which can be used like an actual metronome, you can adjust the tempo by sliding the tempo marker up and down the metronome stick. You can also set the tempo more exactly from the settings where there is a number input for the tempo. You can always see the tempo written on the metronome and also visualise the tempo on the display. The app can be used both on a phone or on a tablet as the screen does not matter in this case and the minimum Android version is 3.0. . The only problem with this metronome is that the tempo does not play if outside the 40-240 bpm interval. The Analog Metronome app is a really useful app if you want to have a resonably good analog metronome on your phone and for most songs, it will work. The Ether Pad app is a innovative Android app for making relaxing music. It has a simple user interface with the menu on top and the notes below, that occupy most of the screen. There are a lot of options to this app and it also has multi-touch capabilities. There also are settings like the octave, scale, key, sound and an about section. You can change the octave from -2 up to 2, the scale from the default to: blues, major, minor, pentatonic, flamenco, chromatic, whole-tone, octatonic and Bohlen-Pierce. All the keys can be used, the size can be set from 4 to 14 keys on display and there are three voices you can choose from: Eather Pad, Distorted Dreams and Xanpalamin. This app allows you to play over the songs you already have playing and if you have a screen recorder with internal sound recording, you can make recordings. The Eather pad is a great music tool, considering the unique sounds that it produces, you cannot have such a creative control on this kind of music without a touchscreen interface. That is why I think that the Ether Pad app its place very well on a smartphone or tablet, on which it works the same way, the screen size does not matter in this case.
